Stainless Exclusion Mesh
Durable physical closure of openings, voids and access points.
Stainless Exclusion Mesh
Rigid or semi-rigid mesh can prevent birds accessing cavities, plant, louvres, roof voids and structural openings while maintaining required ventilation and maintenance access.
Best suited to
Plant rooms, louvres, undercroft openings, bridge voids, service penetrations and permanent access points.
Design notes
Mesh aperture, gauge and support spacing must suit the target species and opening. Fire, airflow and maintenance requirements must remain intact.
UKBC view
Recommended where a direct access route can be permanently closed without compromising the building function.
316 marine-grade stainless steel by default.
UKBC specifies stainless-steel proofing systems as the default for long-term external installations. Galvanised alternatives can be considered where a client specification or budget requires them, but lifecycle, corrosion exposure and maintenance expectations should be assessed at survey stage.
